Biotech Incubator Gets $150,000 Boost
11/26/2008

Verizon announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Huntington Area Development Council to provide a $150,000 grant in support of their efforts to assist new technology-based startup businesses.

These funds will be used to help offset the costs for new enterprises to receive consulting and technical assistance in the areas of technology planning, marketing research and technical assistance related to testing the commercial viability of emerging biotech products and services.

HADCO is currently constructing a Biotech Incubator in partnership with Marshall University, which will be completed in May 2009. The Verizon grant will be available to help the companies that occupy this incubator.

Gerald McDonald, HADCO President, stated, “Our goal is to provide seamless services for biotech startups and this grant will help to create new technology based jobs for our area”.
