Marshall University's efforts to attract biotechnology businesses to the Tri-State will be on display during a two-day conference Monday and Tuesday in Lexington, Ky.
The Huntington Area Development Council and Marshall's Institute for Development of Entrepreneurial Advances will attend the Ohio Valley Affiliates for Life Sciences conference titled, "The Path to Open Innovation." The group, often referred to as OVALS, was formed by several universities in Ohio and Kentucky, the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and the Louisville Medical Center Development Corporation and a handful of biotechnology companies.
The conference will allow Marshall researchers to explore possible partnerships and investment opportunities. HADCO and Marshall also highlight that more than $120 million is being invested in the Tri-State in biotech facilities for research and commercialization, according to a prepared release from HADCO.
