The Huntington area is known for affordable and collaborative utility providers

Utilities

Huntington, West Virginia offers many advantages to growing companies, and one of the most important is the area’s group of utility providers. In addition to having an abundant and remarkably affordable supply of water, electricity, gas, and data capacity, local utility providers share a commitment to working closely with local employers to ensure they have the reliable capacity to support business operations.

Electric power in the Huntington area is delivered by the Appalachian Power Company, an AEP subsidiary, with rates that are 33% lower than the national average. Service to our area is reliable, with a variety of options available based upon your company’s needs.

Mountaineer Gas Company provide reliable natural gas service to our area, allowing businesses to tap into the Appalachian Basin’s known reserves of more than 141 trillion cubic feet of gas. Having a nearby source minimizes transportation costs, keeping gas rates delightfully low.

One of West Virginia’s most abundant natural resources is the clean, fresh water that flows down mountainsides and collects in creeks and rivers on its way to the Ohio River. West Virginia American Water and Kenova Water can supply attractively priced volumes of fresh water for the most demanding industrial applications.

Wastewater is handled by several providers, including the Huntington Sanitary Board and the Town of Ceredo. Careful planning has ensured that these providers have plenty of excess capacity to support new facilities and the expansion of existing operations.

Today’s companies are heavily dependent on access to reliable telecom services, and providers like Frontier deliver abundant bandwidth and security for even the most data-hungry facilities.
